The Writer's Workshop Series presents Writing Dangerously: Telling Truths Toward a Possible Future with Ever Jones

  • 759 Broadway Tacoma, Wa (map)

Writing Dangerously

"Loving yourself enough to become beautiful, to tell the truth," is the advice offered by poet Lena Khalaf Tuffaha in her acceptance speech for the National Book Award in poetry earlier this year. This workshop will explore the intersection between radical self-love and truth telling, using it as motivation to reinvent our ideas of "beautiful writing." A writing that is truthful, untethered, raw, sometimes uncomfortable and undeniably beautiful.

Ever Jones (they, them) is a queer/trans writer, artist and educator based in Tacoma. Their forthcoming book, Transanything, is an essay collection unraveling loneliness and connection, reinventing love and family, and walking the world connected to wolves. It is available for pre-order and will be out in August! Ever has been a long time instructor of creative writing at UW Tacoma and deeply loves their garden.

Registration is required.

Recommended $20 donation. Donation is split between instructor and organization to compensate for time, space and facilitation. This fee is optional. Pay what you can.
